My name is Marcella Martin
And I am a scholar, curator, and educator specializing in Italian Studies and fashion history, with a Ph.D. from New York University. My work explores the intersections of art, fashion, and modernity, particularly how Italian culture has been represented and reinterpreted in American contexts. I have curated acclaimed exhibitions including Made in Italy | Sold in America, and my research has been supported by the NEH, NYU Villa La Pietra, and the Center for Italian Modern Art. I have taught widely at NYU and Jefferson University, blending visual culture, history, and interdisciplinary inquiry in the classroom. My publications appear in both peer-reviewed journals and cultural media, while my public scholarship includes talks at leading universities and features in outlets like the Italian American Podcast and Domani Editoriale.
